William Burns is a business professional with close to three decades of experience who currently serves as the chief financial officer and executive vice president of Cross Country Healthcare. During his career, William Burns has earned a variety of qualifications, including an MBA from New York University, which he obtained in 2000. He also holds a bachelor of arts in accounting and information systems.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Burns held senior executive roles with companies such as Gartner, Computer Associates, Adecco and Honeywell. In these roles, Mr Burns was responsible for process re-engineering and operational improvements, which drove efficiencies and cost savings. In addition, Mr. Burns played an active role in multiple acquisitions while integrating the operations and driving various post-acquisition strategies.

Since 2014, Mr. Burns has worked with Cross Country Healthcare, where he has served as both the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Operating Officer. His efforts to improve profitability and operations is what led to him receiving the CFO Turn-Around Achievement of the Year award, which was given to him by the South Florida Business Journal.

During his career, Mr. Burns has given speeches at investor conferences and industry events and regularly attends the SIA Executive Conference.
